What Authority?

Not only do we find scripture to support the respect of authority, but it just makes good sense!  From children disobeying parents and carrying that behavior over into the schools, to adults acting a fool at work and in ministry - respecting authority has become a real issue.  

Is it that people have no fear of consequences?  Does everyone feel that they can do whatever they want to?  Ephesians 6 teaches that children should obey their parents so that they can have a long life; but what we're seeing is children cursing at their parents and hitting their parents and we turn our heads as if we've seen nothing. 

Let's go to the board room at work, or the church meeting; why does everyong have a hidden agenda, waiting for an opportunity to cause trouble for the one in authority?
