Join me with guest Nelson Brown as he speaks from a man's perspective how it feels to battle low self-esteem, depression, and loneliness. Nelson was suicidal in his freshman year of high school due to his weight problem and rejection by his peers. After his sophomore year he lost 70 lbs and began working on his self-esteem and self-image. He's now author of the book "The Beauty in Us - Our Reality" and encourages children, teens, and young adults by letting them to know that they do not have to be perfect in any shape or form and they can overcome their struggles or fears and embrace their insecurities without being perfect.
Nelson is an environmental science student at the Community College of Baltimore County in Catonsville, Maryland, where he also serves as an editor, writer, and artist on the editorial board of the literary magazine, Fine Print. He's currently training with a team of ministers to become an evangelist at the Messiah Community Church in Reisterstown, Maryland.
