As we continue exploring the theme of hope in the face of exile this Advent, colleagues in ministry Sarah, Erica, Natalie, and Steve zoom out to creation itself, and to God's promise to make all creation new and to dwell with us. Rather than just wishing for freedom from one empire or another--like Babylon in the history of Judah, or Rome in the time of Jesus--Christian hope is ultimately for all of creation to be renewed. And in a sense, because of the ways human sin alienates us from one another, the world, and from God, all of life in the present world feels out-of-sorts and in "exile." So what we are most deeply hoping for is a renewal of creation as a whole, including us, and for God to be at home with us once and for all. And that, it turns out, is connected to the promise of the Messiah who is the center of our Advent waiting. So listen in to this week's conversation here on Crazy Faith Talk!
