Episode 240: Weird Bible Stories, 2021 Edition, Part Five--A Fall at Midnight

Preachers often worry or joke about their sermons putting people to sleep, but it actually happened once, and to no less than the apostle Paul!  In a strange little episode from the book of Acts, we hear about a man named Eutychus, who falls asleep during a long sermon and falls out of a third-story window to his death--only to be raised to life again!  What are we to make of a story like this, and what does it say about the urgency and priority the early church had on gathering and teaching one another?  In a day and age like ours when it is easy to skip church for soccer games, brunch plans, or a chance to sleep in, we may need the surprising perspective of this story to wake us out of our complacency!  So join pastors Erica and Steve (while colleague Sarah is dealing with residual effects from a hurricane) as they explore another weird Bible story here on this week's Crazy Faith Talk!
