Episode 136: Stories from the Church Family Tree, Part 7: Women Translators

As they continue to explore stories from the "church family tree," pastors Erica, Sarah, and Steve explore three women of the 19th and 20th centuries who were involved in translating and interpreting the Scriptures.  For one, when her preacher's end-times prediction didn't come true, she decided to learn the original Biblical langauges so she could study the truth for herself.  For another, it was important to see how the seemingly different accounts in different bibilcal books could be reconciled and pieced together.  And for a third, there was the important question of who gets to decide what a passage "means," and who hasn't been allowed a place at the table to reach that decision.  Of course, these questions haven't gone away, and as we look at these stories from an earlier era, we get insights for how each of us reads the Scriptures today--and how we figure out what to do when we each read the same verse and come to different conclusions about what it means.  So join us for another round of conversation (with a couple of shout-outs to figures ranging from N.T.
