As their series looking at strong and daring women in the Bible continues, pastors Erica, Steve, and new colleague Sarah take a look at two women whose stories are told in the book of Judges--Deborah and Jael. Deborah was already a prophet and a civil leader of her community, and when an invading army came near, she coralled her own neighbors to go into battle and defeat the invaders, even when men were afraid to go on their own. Deborah had courage, wisdom, intelligence, and a willingness to risk her own safety for her people. Later, the story turns to a woman named Jael, who stops the fleeing commander of the invading army when he had tried to hide out in her house and threatened her to keep quiet about it. Jael doesn't back down in fear, but in fact, lulls the enemy Sisera to sleep, and then kills him with a tent peg to end the attack on her people. These surprising stories, along with odd pop culture references to Disney princesses, the Godfather films, and another unexpected "musical moment" in the Scriptures, are waiting in this week's episode of Crazy Faith Talk--join the conversation!
