On February 28, 2011 Charal "RaRa" Thomas was shot 12 times by Ft Worth police Officer J. Romer during a traffic stop that supposedly was ordered by the narcotics division. Also, in the SUV with "RaRa" Thomas that night was his three minor children ages 11, 8 and 7 in the backseat as well as another adult passenger. According to news reports the officer stated he asked Mr. Thomas to exit the vehicle after he found outstanding warrants. When Mr. Thomas refused to exit the vehicle the officer contends he placed his arm inside the vehicle to unlock the drivers side door. That is the point in which the situation turned deadly. The officer then states Mr. Thomas rolled up the window with his arm trapped inside and proceeded to drive off, at which time the officer then after being drug opened fire killing Charal Thomas. The other passengers inside the vehicle were all unharmed, Charal Thomas was later pronounced dead upon arrival at a local hospital. The "Stop Six" community of Ft Worth is outraged and demanding answers from the FWPD and city leaders. Since doing this story last Friday night I have had undercover officers from the FWPD sit outside my home. Today while leaving my home a white female driving a Gray GMC Yukon Texas license plate # DNB 041 blocked my driveway as though to prevent me from leaving my home. This type of behavior will not be tolerated by those that are suppose to protect and serve this community. Attempting to use fear as a weapon of intimidation speaks volumes for where this investigation is going.
