We are almost at the halfway mark in December and the end of year celebrations continue. It is a time we all hope for the best as we approach the end of the year and look forward to better outcomes in the year to come. But guess what? we intend to celebrate everyday and we hope you do the same right here on the Saturday Morning Entertainment Show. And don't forget if it is cold and gloomy where you are it is a sunshine day right here. But we take time out for a little conversation. So Let's Talk.
Daniel Penny was relieved of criminal liability after a jury failed to reach a verdict on one charge and acquitted him of another for charges arising out of and incident where he is alleged to have killed Jordan Neely after placing Neely in a choke hold on a train in New York. Eyewitnesses disagree on whether Neely threatened anybody although he was acting erratic. Sources claim Neely suffers from mental illness. Penny is White and Neely is Black. Many feel that race plays a role both in Neely's death and Penny's acquittal. Some sentiments expressed after the verdict are bone chilling. Some people contend that Penny's conviction would discourage other people from helping in threatening situations or even prevent police from effectively doing their jobs. Others suggest that Penny should not have even been charged. Some are insisting that Penny should sue the N.Y Attorney General for malicious prosecution. What do these sentiments show? Is there a legitimate concern for justice? Come on in. Join the conversation or tell us what you want to talk about. We are always happy to hear from you.
