Sharon Crenshaw works at Center Point, Napa State Hospital (Ca) as a Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor. She helps individual patients and facilitates groups based on evidence based practices (EBP). The sessions she leads include Therapeutic Issues, Family Dynamics, Criminal Thinking and Concepts Groups. She has previous experience running the Gender Specifics Group, which she particularly enjoyed. As a counselor in this capacity, she helps clients as they explore a different way of living after substance abuse. These groups are effective because these patient have the opportunity to practice living a sober lifestyle while living in a supportive environment.

As a counselor at Napa State facilitating groups, her job also includes leading individual counseling sessions; and helping out with other tasks as they arise, including documentation (Medi-Cal requirement) and passing out medications. She is proud to have the honor of shaping lives and offering hope where there once was none. She appreciates her time at Napa State as there is so much growth available as a counselor and personally for each client.

As an individual note about herself - she is a mother, grandmother and daughter to some pretty amazing individuals. She is a member of a local synagogue, and enjoys reading, socializing, exploring, cooking and helping others become the best version of themselves. She also has a private practice where she offers counseling  in Napa. Her favorite vacation activity is parasailing in Catalina, allowing her time to take a breath and celebrate the moment.
