Art as Healing is not limited to doctors, therapists, social workers, and Shaman. Art has long been used as a powerful modality to evoke healing and help us transcend our circumstances. Tune in as "Iya" Wanda Mohammed shares her project, Feminine Thespian Fest. This self-empowering movement highlights the use of performance art in Chicago as a beautiful expressive tool for bringing healing, love and restoration of honor and respect to Black women whose circumstances include domestic violence, former incarceration, breast cancer, and aging.
Wanda Muhammad is the CEO/Founder of Feminine Thespian Fest. A native of Chicago south side, she is a mother of 3, grandmother of 12, great grandmother of 2 and community producer at CANTV. She created the Shaping Young Minds show in 2005, which currently airs on CANTV, channel 19 & 21. Under her brand of Community Conscious Television Programming, she creates programs that empower, uplift and inform. She believes our work begins with women—She (Woman) is the key to our youth. Wanda is excited to partner with other women, other playwrights, actors, producers and various service organizations to produce Feminine Thespian Fest in August 2019.
