The first episode of 2021. We introduced the legal concept of badges and incidents of slavery as a tool for liberation. Putting the onus on congress and section 2 of the 13th amendment to address these ongoing crimes.
"Section Two of the Thirteenth Amendment empowers Congress to “enforce” the ban on slavery and involuntary servitude “by appropriate legislation.” According to the Supreme Court, federal laws passed pursuant to this provision can address a broader range of discriminatory conduct than just coerced labor."

It inspired national lawsuits, supported international indictments on crimes against humanity and empowered abolitionist activists all across the country.
Tonight we revisit this groundbreaking episode of Abolition Today.
